Festival Plaza Donates More Than 1,600 Books To Red Crescent Through Book Drive

0

In line with its vision of bringing the community into all that it does and under the #FestivalCares initiative, back in September Festival Plaza installed a special Tree of Knowledge Book share point at the mall for shoppers to donate their books and school supplies. After just two months, the community mall, part of Al-Futtaim Malls, has donated more than 1,600 to Red Crescent to donate to children in need.

In collaboration with Red Crescent, Festival Plaza continues to collect any and all old reading books, along with school supplies such as school textbooks, unused notebooks, and useable material that can be shared and passed on to children in need. The Festival Plaza Tree of Knowledge Book Share program will continue to run and book donations will happen every quarter to create a channel of continuous giving from its community to other communities in need.

The partnership with the Red Crescent comes under the umbrella of Festival Cares, Al-Futtaim Malls’ CSR program that looks to engage with communities, support tenants and retailers, and connects with customers. Emirates Red Crescent is a volunteer humanitarian organization that supports official authorities in times of peace and war.

With the EXPO just 15 mins away from Festival Plaza, the mall offers a complimentary shuttle bus service every hour from the mall to the EXPO where visitors can catch a free ride without the hassle of parking. There are also a variety of exciting offers for EXPO employees and ticket holders to avail themselves of at the mall. A Hala pick-up point is also located outside the community mall entrance for shoppers who are not driving in, which is convenient for booked taxis. Festival Plaza also offers a convenient Drive-Through PCR testing center with Health Hub Clinic– you can also receive exclusive discounts in the mall if you have used the PCR Drive through the center at Festival Plaza, Jebel Ali.

Look out for more ways to help donate to those in need through Festival Plaza and #FestivalCares in the coming days.
