HONOR’s much-awaited entertainment PAD 8 tablet is finally available in the UAE. The HONOR PAD 8 comes packed in a metal unibody chassis and offers excellent design and build quality. The PAD 8 is available in Blue Hour colour and weighs just 520 gms. On the right edge of the device, you will find the speaker grilles and the USB Type-C port. On the left edge, you will find the second set of speaker grilles. On the top edge, you will find the volume rockers, power button, and noise-canceling microphone.
On the front, you get a brilliant 12-inch 2K Eye-Care HONOR FullView Display, that offers a resolution of 2000-by-1200 pixels and a narrow bezel measuring 7.2mm. The display also offers an 87% screen-to-body ratio, support for 1 billion colours, and comes with the TÜV Rheinland Low Blue Light Certification. You also get a pixel density of 195-PPI and a brightness of 350 nits.
Under the hood, the HONOT TAB 8 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 (6nm) mobile platform. You also get 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. There’s also an extra 2GB of HONOR RAM Turbo which kicks in while playing games or performing performance-hungry tasks.
In terms of the operating system, the HONOR PAD 8 is powered by MagicUI 6.1, based on Android 12 OS, with Google Mobile Services included. You also get a 5MP camera on the front, just above the display, and a 5MP camera at the back of the device. The battery on this one is rated at 7250mAh and the PAD 8 supports 22.5W wired charging. For wireless connectivity, you get both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands of Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 5.1.
The HONOR PAD 8 is positioned as an entertainment tablet, and it shows – it comes packed with eight speakers. The speakers are also High-Res Audio rated and support DTS X: ultrasound effects. Hence, watching movies or listening to music on the HONOR PAD 8 will be a whole new level of experience. The display offers crystal clear images, while the speakers are outstanding.
The HONOR PAD 8 also offers multi-screen collaboration features, which make working with your HONOR smartphones such as the HONOR 70 and the HONOR PAD 8 effortless. With the multi-screen collaboration feature, you can convert your HONOR PAD 8 into a mobile video editing studio. You can also take stunning videos and images using the HONOR 70 and then instantly transfer them onto the PAD 8 for easier editing on a large screen.
You can also seamlessly transfer files between your HONOR phone and the HONOR PAD 8. In order to use this feature, first, switch on HONOR Share and Bluetooth on your HONOR phone. Next, swipe down from the top on the PAD 8 and select the Multi-Screen Collaboration feature, and select OK to connect.
Once your HONOR phone is connected to your PAD 8, you will be able to control the phone and access its contents directly from the tablet. You can drag and drop files and even get into a video call through your phone, right from the tablet’s screen.
